COATED ABRASIVES

    Cloth Backings

                        H Cloth – very heavy polyester cloth, sturdy and resistant, suitable for grinding and fettling operations. Water resistant.

                        X Cloth – Heavy cotton cloth, sturdy and resistant, suitable for fetling, deburring and finishing operations.

                        J Cloth – Flexible cotton cloth, suitable for cleaning, polishing and finishing operations.

                        F Cloth – very flexible cotton cloth, suitable for cleaning, polishing and finishing operations of contoured components.

                        T Cloth – resistant and flexible polyester cloth, suitable for grinding and fettling operations. Water resistant.

                        W Cloth – waterproof cotton cloth, sturdy and resistant, suitable for fettling, deburring, cleaning, finishing and polishing operations.

    Paper backings

                        A = Light for hand operations

                        C= Light for hand and orbital sanding operations

                        D=Medium for orbital sanding operations

                        E= Heavy for mechanical operations

                        F= Heavy for mechanical operations

                        G= Extra heavy for mechanical operations

    Paper and cloth backings

                        K= Very heavy for intensive mechanical operations

    Storage

The coated abrasives must be stored in place with a temperature of approximately 20°C (60°F) and relative humidity of approximately 65%. It is important to avoid storing coated abrasives products near heat sources and in very humid place.

If correct storage conditions are not observed curling and warping will occur along wih premature grit release from it's backing (grit shedding)
